The researchers say the volunteer was given a daily diet of 850 calories. Their goal was to find out if it could help them lose 15 kilograms faster. One year later, researchers found that men lost an average of 11 percent of their body weight. In contrast, the percentage of women who lost weight was 8.4 percent. This gap continued and two years later men lost 8.5 percent of their total weight while women lost 6.9 percent.

Another expert, Sophie Madeline, says that people who want to lose weight are generally advised to lose 500 calories a day. But if a couple is consuming the same amount of the same diet, the man will immediately lose more calories and will automatically lose more weight than the women.
